Company Auditions
RECREATION DANCE VS. COMPETITIVE DANCE
The difference between recreational and competitive dance is the depth of dance technique and the rate at which they learn it. Recreational dance is an amazing way to start a love for dance. Recreational dance focuses on basic technique and simpler elements of dance. The main stress in class is to explore creativity, have fun, and to improve physical activity in a structured environment. Competitive dance focuses on teaching higher level technique and provides opportunities for your child to grow and develop as a dancer at an accelerated rate. The class has fun and builds a love for dance, but also teaches the students discipline, hard work and higher physical activity in a very structured class.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT AUDITIONS
At the audition, we will get a chance to observe a dancer’s technical skills, performing skills, and behavior skills. Dancers selected for companies/teams are not just based on their level of talent, but a number of factors.
