Level K-1: Kinder-1st Grade
Level 1: 1st-2nd Grade
Level 2: 2nd-3rd Grade

Level 4: 4th-5th Grade

Teen: 8th-12th Grade
Levels 6, 7, 8 and 9: Company Only

 

NOTE:
Level 1-Teen must take the ballet and jazz class that are backed up with each other. 
Dancers registered in the wrong age groups will automatically be dropped from the system. 

Acro
Acro is a style of dance that combines dance technique with acrobatics. Acro skills are practiced in isolation, so they can be integrated into choreography. Acro skills include strength, balance, flexibility, and tumbling. Elite Dance Studio is proud to be one of the few studios in the valley to have Acrobatic Arts certified teachers.

Ballet
Ballet is the foundation for every other form of dance. Ballet instruction teaches posture, flexibility, strength, grace, and discipline. Elite has classes for all ages and abilities, including those interested in progressing to pointe.
Gear Required: leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes

Children's Combo
This is a perfect class for first-time dancers. Dancers learn to listen and follow directions as well as learn dance basics, such as rhythm and coordination. The ultimate goal of the children’s combo class is to give children a good foundation in dance and teach them to love moving their bodies.
Gear Required: dance or athletic wear only, no street clothes

Company
Elite’s companies and teams are for competitive dancers. If you are interested in learning about Elite’s competitive program, please visit the office. An information meeting for parents and dancers is held each May. Auditions are also held in May for the upcoming dance season.

Contemporary/Lyrical
Dancers looking for a way to express emotion and personality through dance love contemporary/lyrical dance class. A combination of ballet and jazz moves, contemporary/lyrical dance takes movement inspiration from music and its lyrics. Dancers can easily relate to the emotional content of this dance style and there is plenty of room for self-expression.

Core and Conditioning
Our core and conditioning classes are extremely important for every individual dancer. As dancers spend class time developing strength and technique, muscles are left sore and begin to tighten. This class provides the consistency with weekly stretching to produce greater results in flexibility and an elite range of motion in the body.

Hip Hop
Hip hop is a style of street dancing that includes gliding, popping, locking, and breaking. This popular style of dance allows dancers to let loose and express themselves through movement and music. Elite is committed to keeping music, choreography, and costumes age-appropriate.
Gear Required: Loose-fitting clothing (t-shirt, sweats), athletic shoes (tennis shoes or high tops)

Jazz
Jazz dance combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with an emphasis on energy, rhythm, and style. Jazz classes are often paired with ballet classes to improve technique and training.
Gear Required: Tight-fitting clothing (dance or athletic wear), specific shoes (as required by teacher)

Pre-Point: Pre-pointe is a pointe preparation class for serious ballet students interested in dancing en pointe someday or dancers wanting to improve their ballet technique. A portion of the class is spent doing foot/ankle exercises and stretches on the floor.

Pointe
Going “en pointe” is the technique of a ballet dancer standing on their toes in pointe shoes. Students who are interested in going en pointe should take several ballet technique classes, focus on building foot and ankle strength, and talk to their ballet teacher about when it is appropriate for them to be placed in a pointe class.  Pre-point classes are open to anyone interested.

Pre-Requisites: Ballet dancers must be 12 years old or older, have 3 years of ballet experience, and be recommended by their
ballet teacher.

Silks
Silks uses two lengths of fabric, secured from the ceiling, to perform aerial acrobatics. Dancers learn how to wrap silks around their bodies to defy gravity, build strength, and improve flexibility. Classes include an in-studio showcase at the end of the season.

Stretch and Flexibility
A stretching and flexibility class is the best way to increase your muscle flexibility and condition. Low impact stretches and exercises elongate and shape muscles while helping you to have more flexibility, better extension, and alignment in the body.

Tap
Tap is one of the best forms of dance to instill musicality, rhythm, and coordination. In tap, dancers wear shoes with metal toe and heel taps that sound when hitting the floor. Tap is a great class for beginners and advanced dancers as there is a wide range of tricks and techniques to learn.

Tumbling
Our tumbling program focuses on the skills that are needed for competitive dance and cheer such as walk-overs, aerials, back handsprings and back tucks. Stretching and strength training will also be incorporated to safely prepare the body and prevent injuries.

Turns and Leaps
Turns and leaps are a pivotal part of every style of dance. In turns and leaps class, dancers learn how to maintain balance and control, use core strength, and cross the floor with ease and grace.

Variations (Ballet): Variations is a ballet class that teaches choreography from famous ballets.  In ballet, a variation, sometimes referred to as a pas seul means to dance alone, is a solo dance. Learn some of the most memorable variations from full-length ballets in variations ballet class.
